Top British International schools in Ghana

Ghana has a number of British international schools that offer a high-quality education to students. These schools follow the British curriculum and often prepare students for international exams such as the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate (IB). Some examples of British international schools in Ghana include:

1. British International School was established in 2007. It is located at Ghana East Legon Hills, Greater Accra. It is a day and boarding that caters to boys and girls between the ages of 1 to 18 years. It offers early years, primary and secondary schooling. It uses the British curriculum, Cambridge International Examinations curriculum, it offers IGSCE and GCE. 

2. East Airport International school was established in 2002. It is located at 12-14 Koriey Kofi Avenue, Accra. It offers nursery, primary, secondary schooling, and A-levels to boys and girls between the ages of 2-18. It uses the British curriculum for teaching. Learning is facilitated by the use of ICT, well-equipped ICT and science labs are available.

3. International Community School, Accra was established in 2000. It has two campuses, One in Kumasi and the other at 44th Lagos Avenue, East Legon, Accra. It is a day and boarding school that caters to boys and girls between the ages of 2 to 18 years old. More than 1000 students representing over 30 nationalities have enrolled. It offers the IGSCE and A-level program for the high school level, and it uses the English national curriculum from nursery to middle school. 

4. Morning Star School: Located in Cantonments, Accra, Morning Star School is a co-educational school that follows the British curriculum and who’s high school prepares students for qualifications in CAIE, IGCSE or ALEVEL and WASSCE. Morning Star has a member of the British Council Partner Schools Global Network and affiliated with Cambridge Assessment International Education.

5. Galaxy International School was established in 2001. It uses both the Ghanaian and British curriculum. The school has two campuses; the preschool and primary campus is situated at East Legon while the high school has its campus at Adjiringanor. 

6. Ghana International School was established in 1955. It is located at 2nd Circular Road, Cantonments. It is a day school that caters to boys and girls between the ages of 3 to 18 years old. It is organized into 4 sections: Infant School (3-6 years), Junior School (7-10 years), Lower Secondary (11-13 years), Upper Secondary (14-17 years). It offers the IGSCE and Cambridge International Examinations, GIS has over 1,398 students from more than 50 countries. In 2007, it became the first school in Africa to be accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)

It’s worth noting that these are just a few examples of the many British international schools in Ghana. There are many other schools that offer a high-quality education based on the British curriculum and are worth considering as well.
